I don't see it suggested here, but the 1.3x crop is a bonus vs. the 1Dx or 5DIII(for sports/wildlife).

That's the main reason I have my 1DIV. My 300 pretty much lives on it. If only had the 5DIII or 1DX I'd need a 400 which is just to big and heavy.

I pretty much only use the 1DIV for things that need speed and/or reach, often I'll shoot 2 bodies with a zoom on the 5DIII, and the 5DIII gets used for pretty much everything else.

Ha this was the opposite last month for me, I kept my 1D. I had a 5Dm2 at one point, and had the body for years. When I got the 1D I kept picking up my 5D during shoots (because I knew it like the back of my hand) eventually I would leave it home so I would be forced to pick up my 1D to get used to it.

When the 5Dm3 was announced, it was an emotional month for me, LOL.

Either or, I still made great images. I think the next move for me will be the 5D4, or a medium format body.

I know exactly what you're feeling. I've been extremely happy with my 5d3 but I've always looked longingly at the 1d4. That said, I think a 135L would make more sense for me so I'm not terribly tempted with a 1d4, yet.

Just saw one sell for $2800 on ebay last night. Man, did I ever want to bid on that camera.
