Do you think metabones will come up with a new model designed for A7 R? Without an adapter what lens can you get in Dec for the A7R?

Cheers,

The metabones already works for EF lenses, with AF and everything. Sony Australia even bundles it with the A7R.

I guess you haven't followed this thread much. ;)

AF performance is compared to AF in LiveView (slow but functional), but I think it's amazing that there is AF with adapted lenses at all. :)

I have followed the thread, I know that the current model works, but asking if anyone heard of a new model coming, deciding if I should get one now or wait till Dec or wait for the new model.

Not sure. I haven't heard anything about a new model.

Not a big leap as I was expecting. I'm happy regardless.

Canon can't learn since they're too busy making firmware. ;)

Canon's engineers have been working overtime developing new Powershot color schemes, so they're doing more than just making firmware. ;)

The A7R looks too good for me. I need it. So, I changed up the gear list in my sig to reflect my new plans. :)

Not that it matters, but it looks like Steve was using a Canon-mount Otus (Nikon-mount Zeiss lenses have an aperture ring). The results are terrific and helps confirms that the combination of Otus + metabones adapter + Sony A7R is an excellent one.

I too will be waiting for some confirmation that the 17 and 24 II TS-E lenses work well on the A7R before I make a purchase decision - hopefully Shadowblade can help out in that regard. :)

I'll be able to post a quick reply on November 30 (when I get home to pick up the body), but images will likely have to wait until the end of December (when I get back from South America) or even later, depending on the availability of a RAW converter.

Also looking forward to a dedicated RRS L-plate - for the moment, I'll be fitting old 5D2 plates to the Metabones adapters...

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

Anyone who says megapixels aren't important has never printed a 96"-wide photo for a gallery.

Yay!
So happy that dear ole KR confirmed my suspicions by saying EXACTLY opposite of what I'm planning to do.

Thanks Kenny boy! Sony a7R is on pre-order! :D

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!
