Just because someone has some money doesn't mean they want to waste it. If you can get a good price on a "like new" battery, why not?

I bought a nearly new camera from a member here. It had been through 2 owners and a total of 50 clicks in about 9 months before I got it. People get buyer's remorse or just change their minds. People's spouses make them sell expensive gear. People get sick or arrested and need cash. All I know is that I got a good deal on a 99.9% new camera. The ones that do make me wonder is when its still within the vendor's return period.

I have a 1div and I purchased three batteries used and they all last over 1900 shots. I have sold a 40mm because I got a great deal and made a profit. I sold my 300mm f2.8 with a crack in the hood and the lens was tack sharp with a 2x converter (actually miss it). People sell brand new cameras because they end up not liking it or they conclude they don't need it. I don't see the problem with any of this.

Those always make me wonder also. "I just bought this last week, and now I'm selling it at a loss" - Ummm... why aren't you returning it then? I figure there is a possibility of a scam, damage that makes it unreturnable, or they got it on a great sale price and are trying to make a buck. The last reason I'm ok with, but I always figure it's one of the first two.

Agreed, but others didn't get the irony of some of these listings. And I still don't understand someone having enough money to buy a $3-5,000 camera then asking for used batteries for it!

I know millionaires who buy stuff off Craigslist. Maybe they bought that camera used too.

I was just trying to make a humorous thread using my sarcastic humor and yes it back fired, some people took it too serious.

Mainly because it was not that funny, even sarcastically. If you slate people, prepare to be slated back ;)

Humor (especially sarcastic humour) seems to not translate well on the Internet talk forums.

Its come back to bite me here a couple of times.

Yes, I agree. Some people don't have a sense of humor!
