Went on a trip back to Piercy's Mill Cave and went on a trip through Higginbothams #4 Cave. Both were pretty, though Higgs 4 was by far the better of the two. Just over a mile of beautiful passage with a stream in it. The sounds you hear while we went down it were, "Ohh, ahh, ooh, aaAAHHH THATS DEEP AND COLD!" :)

Soon, I will have a video of this trip, including us taking the photos.

Enjoy the photos!

Andrew Mengele in "Someplace Special" in Higgs 4. He fired on flash straight up at the ceiling while I fired another behind him to give the glow.

Me in "Someplace Special" in Higgs 4. Wirelessly slaved back and fill flashes.

Me in the pool below a waterfall near the back of the cave. Was almost completely soaked by the time we got here (climbed down three 5ft waterfalls :D ) but this photo made it worth it... priorities right? Andrew fired a flash to light the ceiling, I fired a flash from my hands. Higgs 4

Andrew Mengele near a translucent column in Higgs 4. This column was backlit by a flash at full power. The stalagmites behind it and Andrew were both lit by the glow the column gave off! One of my favorites from this trip.

Happy and exhausted, Andrew on the left, me on the right upon exiting Higgs 4. The passage continued like that (tight and wide) for about 450ft before opening up into the big passage... off to Piercy's Mill!

Me in Downtown Piercy's Mill. Two wirelessly slaved flashes. One to light me up, another to fill in the back. Set this one up and shot it nearly on my own... Andrew was happily exporing other parts of the cave.

The end result of a beautiful day of caving: Andrew exiting Piercy's Mill to the dusk sky...

Video soon...

Till next time!

Looking forward to the video. Great job with the photos! Looks like a lot of fun, albeit a lot of work to get into and set up.

How much gear are you carrying? Seems like you have a fair amount of flashes/lighting with you. What are you carrying it all in? Obviously it's watertight and hopefully somewhat comfortable.

Really cool. Caves are so unusual. And all so different.
We have some really cool caves here in AZ. I need to get out to them.

Nice work, love the cave shots.
I trust you remember to wash all your gear so as not to spread the White Nose Syndrome to the bat populations.
