Shot my first wedding the other weekend and was relatively happy with the results! I met the family on gumtree and photographed for free as I felt it relieved pressure and the couple understood I was totally out of my comfort zone. The bride didn't really want any 'posed' shots and more of a documentary style approach which I was thankful of.

The album hasn't been sent yet and is currently hidden on my website - but can be viewd through this link:

I'm just looking for some last minute feedback before I do the final touches (quick reorder + a few black and whites).

Cheers!

EDIT, UPDATED LINK: http://danielwatsonphotography.com/kris-aimee/ (external link)

If there is anything you think I should change - please say so now as these will be getting sent in the morning! Thanks again

Honestly, its a very good set. Can't believe its your first wedding as you seemed to capture the moments very well.

I do notice that the pictures look soft. May be compression or something weird going on.

Very nice set! I really like your processing style.

How did you light the reception?

Gotta agree with the masses. Hard to believe that was your first wedding! Awesome work!

I didn't see any ring shots, just something I noticed not a biggie.

I love that you got some shots of the cat in there too. May seem like no big deal but if the cat is "a part of the family" then they will enjoy seeing them as part of the special day ;)

Nice! Like the consistency of the editing. Clean. What it sounds like is that you captured what the bride wanted, Photojournalism style. I have to agree about the ring shot, if you have one you should def included it. I don't know if I would include the picture of the mother wiping her nose, but who knows, they might want that. Great job.

Thanks all! Sadly didn't get a ring shot... Really gutted but knew there would be things I missed, hence the agreement I shot for free and that was a risk they were willing to take. Just doing some final touches now then going to send the album! Really nervous for the response.

The reception was lit with either on camera flash + bounce card or with the lighting available in there. The lights were really strong orange which was a bit of a nightmare.

These are great. I wouldn't have guessed it was your first wedding from looking at these.

Very nice shoot. Definitely wouldn't think this was your first gig.

Thanks for the great feedback everyone - genuinely chuffed and surprised! I've just uploaded essantially what will be the final album to my website in 960px format:

http://danielwatsonphotography.com/kris-aimee/ (external link) <<<<<

Unfortunately the cracks begin to show at larger sizes! I'd recommend viewing at no bigger than 960 as the website is stretching the vertical images out wider for some reason so they look terrible even at that size.

If anyone can see anything they think I should remove or any suggestions, please have a look through and say so now!

Should I send?! (Also - one last thing - is it acceptable to email a zip file containing the low res images? Then post a disc /USB with the high res?)

Images are fine, but boring, it looks like you only use one lens, same focal lens in all images.

These photos exhibit a quirky style that I think is somewhat coherent throughout the set. That's a good thing. I do wonder if this style suits this couple--but that's another question. There are some shots with certain crops or that capture clearly undignified moments that I think could be deleted. But overall these are good--great for a first wedding.
