Thanks, I was at the Aquarium in Gatlinburg and couldn't remember half of what I shot.

Security must've been looking at the 7D with the 70-300L mounted. I doubt they'd have let me in with the 5D3 and 40mm...............obv​iously size does count :-)

I am having a hard time deciding between this one and 50mm 1.8 for my 1100D.

Extra 16mm makes a difference, but I'm afraid the compromise in low light/DOF will be too great. Actually, I don't care for low light that much, but I like shallow DOF for I shoot a lot of (fairly) closeup details, and I also like outside/nature portraits which look great with nifty-fifty from what I can see.

Any advice?
