One of my favourites from your recent stuff Mark, love it! The rain makes it for me I think.

Anyone interested in a hotshoe GPS (external link) thingie? It creates gps coordinates as you take photos to geo-tag images. I'm selling off a few bits that end today and this one has no bids yet and no reserve, so it will likely go pretty cheap :)

morning all, I went to the Leeds Castle fireworks on Saturday so I had a go at some shots of them, first time shooting fireworks so there okish, I did have the added problem of not being in the best of places as I was 3 rows back down the side of the castle so I had to shoot over the heads of people, and to make it a bit harder I had George on my shoulders as well..
Anyhow heres a few pics, I took lots just not sure which I like so these might be crap or good?, I will next time make sure im in the right place long before the crowds gather..

Those are some ace firework shots Mark! I tried at a local display but it was packed solid and started to chuck it down with rain! :(

Throwing out this question in case anyone knows -- going to the Italy vs Nigeria game at Craven Cottage on Monday night. Anyone have experiences shooting there as a spectator? The website says that they don't have a definitive list of restricted items and stewards will use their judgement. Not sure if a white 70-200 would be considered "pro" and therefore not allowed in. I know they have a storage facility, but would rather not deal with that if possible.

Anybody have any experiences or tips about getting in with such a monster "pro"-looking lens?

I guess they check your bag, for this type of game I reckon they will be more lax that a Premier League game which is dataco restricted. Used to shoot the Fulham matches there, worst floodlights ever.

Hello everyone! My wife and I are traveling to London at the end of this Month. We will be there from the 23rd to the 27th, we are then traveling on to Dubia to finish off our vacation. We know absolutely nothing about the area other than what we've researched online. Anyone up for giving a walking photography tour guide? Maybe hit a bar (pub) or two? We have a hotel in the center of London and planned to just walk to all the local attractions but we would absolutely love to have a local show us around.

Thanks in advance!

I emailed them and got this response:

We do allow smaller camera, but I'm afraid any with a detachable zoom lens are not permitted under our ground regulations.

The rule is very much applied at the discretion of our match stewards, who will take a view at the entrance as to whether the camera is too big to be admitted. The ruling is partly to protect image rights holders, and also to ensure that neighbouring fans are not distracted or have their view blocked by photographic equipment.

If it is an SLR, and you would like to bring it along, then please feel free to do so, on the understanding that if directed to by a steward, then it may need to be deposited at our free Left Luggage service for the duration of the game.

I'm thinking I'll just bring my S95 to avoid any hassle. Would have loved to have taken the 70-200 (got pitch-side seats).

Hi Chris, I'm a one-year "local" only (moved here from Colorado last December). Would love to meet up and go shooting, and show you what little I know about the city!

Evening all...I am still alive! Just dropped off the photographic radar for a while...need to find my mojo again. Looks like I'm not the only one as this thread seems to have slowed down a lot. I see Mark's still churning out the same old dross! :p;):p

Don't shoot much with my 16-35, so forced myself to go out and shoot with it.
