Vinz, I had been thinking about you with the disaster in the Philippines. Our pastor's wife is from there, too. I will be praying.

+1.

A friend of mine just bought a Sony Alpha SLT-A99V. The ISO performance blows me away.

he took this inside a closed room with only a slight light coming from a window with thick curtain.

The fact my wife no longer has a job has eliminated all hope of going FF anytime soon!

Completely out of topic and maybe against the POTN rules. I don't care. they can ban me anytime.

As some of you knows, I'm from the Philippines. And everyone of us here in the U.S. do every way to help out the super typhoon victims in my motherland.

I'm sure you heard the news. This catastrophe is more worst than the Katrina as many people said.

If you have some extras, please help. We are seeking donations everywhere. To be sure it goes to the right hands. I'm using the redcross.org website. here's the link...

https://www.redcross.org …mpmedium=aspot_unassigned (external link)

God bless everyone.

My friends here are doing charity drives and what not for it, and I donated to Red Cross but will probably help volunteer as well. I didn't hear of the Typhoon catastrophe til I read this...I'm really shut out of the world. x.x

Brenda that flash is similar to my YN560EX as an off camera TTL/Slave unit that works with the 60D's flash commander for TTL or full manual control through the camera menu. It is manual only on camera.

Dumb question of the day: Uh...what's makes a slave flash different from a regular flash?

This one has HSS and ttl but is a slave. http://www.amazon.com …keywords=YongNuo+YN-510EX (external link)

Brenda, it is a Regular Flash capable of being a slave. Not every flash model is fully capable of being a slave unit like this one. A slave unit can be fired remotely in different ways ... by infa red receiver built into it, (but depends on line of sight between units), radio signal as in your remote triggers, or ttl (ettl) from camera to flash unit.
This unit can do all of that and be used on camera too!!!

.

Thanks, guys. Is it because it's only manual on camera that it is cheaper than a 568ex? I will be looking for a flash with hss and possibly oc ttl (haven't decided how important that is to me yet) to go with 622s.
