I didn't think Canon would ever develop a white SLR.

Interesting design.

Well, it will look great with a nice long L tele on it, finally they match a camera body color! (sorta).

It could also remain cooler on a tripod on a hot day for extended video or live view use.

Oh, yeah, and it's cuuuuute.

Your posts got me thinking, how many people will buy the white 40mm pancake just because it matches their other great white lenses? (i.e. to go with their 70-200L, 300, 400, etc).

Also Kai Wong doesn't have to work extra hours to paint over this body white like he did to the T3i in one of those digitalrev episodes..

I'm waiting for someone to get out their red sharpie and draw a little red line around the outside of that white 40mm...

Don't even say that, it gives me the shivers to think how awful that would be.

That is what Krylon is for. Just make sure you mask off the right parts...

Strongly resembles the color scheme for elderly mobility products.

Canon is the new Apple.

Nah, the new Pentax.

Here's the circa 2009 "smallest DSLR ever" in white:

^^ Wow, I had all but forgotten about this camera until I saw your post.. but now I do remember seeing it on a display table at a local camera shop around 2009. It's certainly a move by Canon that looks an awful lot like something out of Pentax's marketing department.. but then again Canon doesn't have like 20+ colors of any camera yet like the Pentax Q. Now that thing is practically made in every color, good grief!

Yuk. I don't like the white lenses either.

Very very classy; all the hip people in Beverly Hills are going to dump their Leicas to pick up one of these ultra-fashionable white "Rebel Without a Cause" cameras.

I hope this drop-dead gorgeous fashion accessory has a built-in phone and comes bundled with a kit Chihuahua. ;)

Mkes me wonder if you can paint a camera. If done by a professional who knows what hes doing. I can think of many interesting camo designs to paint my 7D
