Mr. Rebates cash back rewards

I agree. You should always follow up on these things. You can't be passive about this stuff.

Usually they have a note (in red text) stating that any use of coupons outside of Mr Rebates or purchasing gift cards would void MR cashbacks. If that was the case, I would of just cancelled my order and reordered without the gift card. I'll give up not using my $50 and get back $120.

Yes, I did actually. If I remember correctly, I had a few orders around the same time. When my cashback was cancelled for the first one with the gift card use, I opened a case with Mr. Rebates to find out why and they pointed to me that using the gift card as part of an order actually disqualifies the cashback. I checked and it is indeed under their general terms and conditions. But, they said that they would open a case with Adorama anyway and Adorama actually approved the cashback ( total amount - gift card).
For the second one that I mentioned above, I was late to follow up. They cancel the cashback after ~2 months and you cannot open a claim after 3 months. I could have email or call after 3 months (or if I even contact Helen, I'm sure she could have helped) but I did not bother, partly taking responsibility for my laziness for not filing a timely claim and also not reading the terms - although I don't think it is fair one.

If there was a misunderstanding, my post's intention was not a negative message about Adorama or Mr. Rebates. In fact, I do majority of my photo gear purchases from Adorama; and Mr. rebates and other cashback sides play a big role on this. I consider Adorama and B&H equality reliable and great places to shop; but cashback sites are tie-breaker on Adorama's favor. Cashback used to be 3-4% in the past and it adds up very quickly. I find Mr. Rebates very reliable as well. They never missed reporting any of my orders except this particular issue.

I just want to point out this particular issue with gift card/rewards since the use of rewards from earlier orders should be common nowadays; so, unnecessary headache can be avoided. Also, the people who are new to cashback sites do not get discouraged from very beginning. I tried ebates, mr. rebates, fatwallet over years and they all actually work remarkably well and reliable.

I'm glad you did let us know because I was not aware of it, but now now we know. I probably would have used my Amex gift, via Mr. Rebates, but I chose to cash the card in for a cash payout.
