^ mesmerizing! Where were you when you took this image? (I mean were you climbing an adjacent mountain, hiking toward the hut, etc)

Welcome to POTN! What a gorgeous photograph!! How did you get to the point you took this photograph from?

Thanks a lot for your comments.
I was coming back from the hut when I took the picture. My 70-200 wasn't on the camera when I came up, and the snow made these slopes quite dangerous, so I didn't try to switch lens while going up. The trail was a bit tricky to figure out under the snow, but eventually I found a way reach the hut from behind (there's no other way to reach it, as it sits right on top of a spectacular cliff.)

This little house has been built in 1927, to give a shelter to mountaineers trying to go higher in the Mont Blanc massif. Reaching it requires a steep hike of about 3 hours and a half, as it sits at 2735m, 1200m higher than the nearest road. In my case, it was well worth the effort, as I spent more than a full hour alone up there, and was the first person coming after the snowfall.

This is one of the most stunning sunrise shots I have ever seen. I am wondering if you photoshopped it and if so, what you did?

I agree, definitely one to be blown up big. Just amazing.

Thanks very much. I straightened the horizon as well as cropped the shot. Adjusted color temp and contrast

Thank you for your kind comment. I still have to find a reliable way to print my pictures before hanging them though.

Here's a telephoto of Half Dome in Yosemite. The trees help give you a sense of the size of the cliff, which from this point near the base of Yosemite Falls is over 3 miles away.
