Mechanical engineer for a major aerospace company. I get paid to break really expensive aircraft and space parts so they don't break in flight.

Retired (recently) from a 24-yr career in the Air Force. Now I'm a professional skydiver and nearly full-time photographer.

Life is good!

Retired fire chief, 27 years of service. Mon-Thurs I head up a fab shop for a company doing metal work, lathe-mill & TIG welding of mostly aluminum. Fri-Sun I shoot a lot of equine events, mostly barrel racing and rodeos, we print on site, keeps me busy.

Although I was formally trained as an engineer (MS and PhD in engineering from MIT), for the last several years I've been working as a senior consultant in Quality Assurance for the biotech/pharmaceutical industry (hence my forum name). Consulting has proven to be very lucrative - when I can find the work!

There's already a thread about this in the Business forum, with pages and pages of posts. If you answer the poll, your occupational category goes into the stats.
