hello,
I have Canon 7D.
Currently I have old Sandisk ultra 2 8gb CF card.
I want to buy something faster and with high capacity (32gb).
My budget is 45$ +-.
I looked at this item:
http://www.ebay.com …_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 (external link)
Do you have experience with PIXELFLASH? Are they reliable, high quality?
If you have other recommendations I would be happy to hear.

BTW, I read the threads about fake memory cards at Ebay - this seller seems reliable and I'm planning to test the card speed when I get it.

Thanks
Ofir

I wouldn't buy on ebay- it will almost assuredly be a counterfeit card. I would buy a Sandisk, Lexar, or Transcend from Adorama, B&H, Amazon (not partner), gearshop.dpreview.com, or another reputable store. The transcend listed above would be a good economical choice. There are likely to be some sales between now and Christmas, if you can wait.

http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/39197809 (external link) has an older review on that brand. Not so good but an apology from an employee is offered.

If you have access to a Best*Buy*they have a sale that started yesterday on the Sandisk 32 GB Extreme CF card (120 mb/s). The price is $80, normally $150 so says the ad and I realize this is more than you wanted to spend, but it is a known high quality card and doesn't carry the risks of eBay. Likely this price can be beaten by mail order but sometimes it is nice to deal with a reputable source for memory and visually examine packaging prior to purchase

One thing to considert here is: Fast enough for a 7D or fast enough for later camera models?

The you tube video at www.YouTube.com/watch?v=G9Yvgr_D-9E (external link) seems to indicate it is faster than a Transcend but note the source is Pixelflash direct. Its $52 there, but you have a reliable source.

7D requires 45 mb/sec for max burst rate. faster will not improve performance / ScanDisk makes in 30 / 60 / 90 mb/sec increments. 90 mb/sec will only help when you are transferring to computer using a card reader

A card that manages 45 MB/s write speed manages at least that speed when reading. So about 12 minutes to empty a full 32 GB card.

It's normally not meaningful to buy faster than what the camera can use - the next camera might use SD memory.

I live at Israel,
The problem with Amazon, B&H, best buy and all the rest is that they don't offer worldwide shipping.
Do you have reliable source with reasonable worldwide shipping price?
Thanks
Ofir

Amazon and B&H most definitely DO offer worldwide shipping. I live in Hong Kong and I've ordered from both of them.

I don't know to tell you about B&H but the shipping price of Amazon to my country is quite high

Yes, but you said they don't offer international shipping. That is not true.

As for how reasonable the shipping is, international shipping is going to be expensive, or the savings will be added onto the price of the product in most other cases.

Can you not find Sandisk or Transcend or Lexar products in your country?

Alternatively, buy several items at once, that will spread out the cost of shipping.

Er, nope.

Maximum burst rate is totally independant of card speed as the first 3 seconds (or slightly more) of a burst of raw images goes straight to the buffer. Only when the buffer is full does the burst rate slow while the images are written to the card. That's when card speed matters.
