Hey all,

More excellent images. Thanks so much.

And I've had a moment of free time to use my 6D and Siggy 85 f/1.4 for fun - and not work - which is nice!

Regards,

Simon

And another from me.

These, and the 'balls' in my post at the top of this page are the oddest I've found so far here. Totally not normal in Japan, I think.

Regards to all,

Simon

Hey Carl,

Thanks for adding such a personal image.

My Dad's grave and in fact, him in his coffin before his burial are all in here (Oct 2009), so I can totally empathize with you.
And some of the great POTN members helped me through that time.

We're all here for you, too.

Regards, and my thoughts are with you.

Simon

Thanks everyone so very much for your kindness. He died last year so the sting isn't as bad as it was. :) He had Alzheimer's and absolutely hated it. Even though I miss him (and Mom), I'm really happy that he doesn't have to put up with it anymore. He's still with me every exposure. He was into photography before I was born. Built a custom darkroom in their house. I shot most of the B&W for my yearbook and he and I developed and printed them. Good times. :)

I still have all the gear, minus the enlarger lens. Hoping to have a house with a little more room by the time the kids are in school so I can set it all back up again. Here in a few weeks I'm going to buy a few rolls of 120 for the Koni-Omega Rapid M. Probably been 20 years since it's taken a picture. :) No battery for our old handheld light meter so I'll probably just set it for sunny 16 and see what I can get. :)

Peace!

Something different (a change from the somber mood of this thread). I don't know how common this sort of "scenic design" is, but I haven't come across it before. I think they are interesting, although I do not get the connection between country music and a Komatsu excavator.

Hey Carl,

Good to hear back from you, and that there are a lot of good memories for you about your parents.

And your photo plans sound like a lot of fun.....what a great way to keep the precious memories alive!

Regards for now,
And see you in the threads....

Simon

A few of the monuments at Yosemite's small cemetery, visited on November 13. These markers commemorate people of great significance in the history of the park and others so obscure that not even their names are known.

Reduced in 2017 from eight images to two, the markers for Galen Clark and "a boy," to accommodate Photobucket's new business model.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Now that's an interesting colour for a grave marker.

Do you know if there's a reason?

Regards, and thanks to all the latest contributors!

Let's keep the "dead thread" alive 'n' kicking....though not in a gruesome, zombie-flesh-eating like way!
;)
