@hollis_f I misused the term "maximum burst rate", sorry. The card speed only comes into play when the buffer begins to unload to the card. Or when unloading to a computer via a card reader. The point is that extra card speed is wasted money, and as you point out, only after the buffer is full.

So what do I need to search for? 45MB/s) card?

I've been using the Transcent 400X cards in my 7D for years now, and have no regrets.
