I finally got our feeder up in early November and, so far, only a few residents have found it. And that's certainly easy on the food bill. Here we have an American goldfinch and a black-capped chickadee.

Gorgeous captures. Love the perch. The soft yellows of the goldfinch and the crest of the Black-capped are fabulous.

Thank you all very much for your kind comments. I was pleased to see the goldfinches show up, however briefly, as the number of species we have here to photograph in winter is much reduced. As for the perch, I'm always on the lookout and have learned that the species of wood makes all the difference as to what grows on it; this is a burr oak branch. Thanks again.
Al
