Another spin off the CPS thread...

I've been looking for a strap for my 500mm f/4. Searching the forum I found referrals to the OP/TECH/POTN/CPS & the UPStrap for use with a 500mm lens. Of the two, I'm leaning towards the UPStrap because I tote over the shoulder (as opposed to around the neck) and it looks to be more suited for this use.

Any other suggestions I should consider?

I use the cps strap (op tech) only on my shoulder and it is very comfortable. I use a 500mm/ 1d IV.

With a 500mm lens? I have a RS7 and do like it for general walk-around use but doesn't really work with a lens plate and monopod attached to the lens and I would think I'd want to tote by the camera body. I'm looking for something that utilizes the strap brackets on the lens.

I just used the strap that came with the lens. It's a really nice canon strap or I would look at getting a optech one as you can unclip the strap and put the buckles together if you want a smaller foot print

Thanks for the reply. I bought the lens second hand without a strap so I've been using the canon branded strap that came with my camera body. It is OK but looking for something a little more comfortable. OP/TECH sound good and I like the price too~
