5d iii vs 6d for automotive photography

can you elaborate more please. how would you compare the AF system in the 5d iii vs 7d.

The AF of the 5d3 is pretty awesome. Between the two bodies the 5d has less fps but does better in low light. Low light performance will help out a lot if you go to a night time race like nascar or something as ISO tends to help get the shutter speeds needed for that crash shot.

There are multiple people in the 6D thread that regularly shoot motorsports. I don't think the AF system is as limiting as you think.

Definitely true. Like I said, it would be an awesome automotive body. I'm just trying to point out potential frustration points.

I agree, the 6D seems a good match for what you want to do with it, from all accounts it has outstanding image quality, and there's no obvious reason to spend more $ when you really don't need the features of the 5DIII you'd be paying extra for.
