My birthday is next week and my parents are very insistent that they get me a present I need in this price range. I am very new to anything other than natural light

My lighting rig
AB1600
AB800
430ex ii
cowboy studios triggers
22" white beauty dish
64" silver plm
Medium umbrella
(Cheap stands)

My thoughts:
Vagabond mini
Better triggers
Better stands

I'm open too suggestions

I'll vote for the Vagabond mini. Being able to use your lights outdoors opens up a whole new world.

Another vote for the mini, but it's a little more than $200. Way, way worth it.

The hidden issue with getting a Vagabond (great choice) and being able to take your stobes outside is that you're putting them on the cheap stands :-/ You may end up coming back in here and posting a thread about your lights and modifiers getting destroyed after your cheap stands with their tiny footprint were very prone to falling over outdoors. :(

Okay, vagabond mini it is. I'll get a decent stand myself I guess.

I do eventually want a good nd filter, but don't feel the need until I bring my lights outside
