Just invest in reiken focal and test at the distance you use in good light.

Better? Yes but you should have something in the foreground when doing these test shots. Not really any way of knowing if it's still front focusing a little. Maybe line up three water bottles diagonally and shoot the center one.

A chart laying flat on the table with your camera on a tripod shooting down at a 45 degree angle is the best way IMHO.

QUOTED IMAGE

ok thanks for the advice, i'll try that

i have already tried a chart and +5 seems fine

but i'll also try shooting with something in the back/foreground

Eddie, we all love your cute little guy and you seem to post more of him in this thread. But I have been following your landscape work for a couple years and must say it is TOP NOTCH! Keep up the excellent work!

Thank-you very much Cory! Landscapes are my main photography passion but things changed quite a bit when the wee man came along :). Thanks for the compliment

Currently evaluating this lens (I own the 35L), and last night was my first time using the lens in a "real world" application...not too bad, not bad at all.

Focus is actually on his hair and not the face, here.

just got this lens last night and shot a few things this morning... i spent about an hour last night dialing in everything with the USB dock. It makes you ask yourself why everyone isnt doing this with their lenses.

Nice shots there.. I was out last night in very extreme low light.. thought I would push it a bit with my 5D2 and 35..
