25,600 ISO is nice but not sure I would go that high in many situations

True. It's just good to know your equipment and it's capabilities.

I'm not sure there's a whole lot of science to it really. I'm sure you can geek out for hours tweaking micro settings, but for me i pretty much just bump the luminance slider a bit in lightroom on the super high ISO shots. I really think the camera body makes the most difference. I have the 5D3 and it blows me away with how clean 6400 is when properly exposed (a little to the right) and simply using LR default NR setting!

Nice swim sjots up there LPMM, my kid's swim meets have been where high ISO have been the most handy!

Thanks guys, I just had a play at 5000 ISO, really happy with this for a first time go, I'm sure it could be better though with a bit more time..

RAW converted to JPEG's, I think I'm definitely going to be shooting RAW more often..

Before & After (After being on the left..)

Thanks Cory. Most of our swim meets are at HS or middle school pools with terrible lighting, so high ISO is pretty much the norm.

Really impressed, have just done this. (Yes, I know I'm a bit slow to all this RAW stuff...:p)

ISO 12,800, Canon 60D, f/8, 4 second (over)exposure.

that´s the whole secret - little bit overexposure gives you much better noise control, You don´t need the FF to have nice noise free pictures;)
