Maybe Lightroom knows I hate it so it's giving me problems. :) Anyway, I can't seem to import. I've been to the Adobe TV, Learn Lightroom 5 site but I'm not getting the same screen they do when I open it up. First I get a warning box telling me an error occurred when changing modules so I click OK since that's the only option. Lightroom5 opens and my desktop looks like the second attachment. I don't get the left or right side panel and no option to import. Help

I you are using Windows, try pressing Ctl-Shift-I, with a Mac Cmd-Shift-I, and see what happens.

I've never seen that error screen, not sure what the malfunction might be!

Could it be that I'm on 10.9 and the Adobe site lists system requirements up to 10.8? Shot in the dark here

I'm not a Mac user, so I don't have a clue! I'd check with Adobe and Mac support!

Try renaming the preference file to ".OLD".

Well I got it to work but I'm not really sure how I did it. I trashed Lightroom then restarted. Then I went back to the cloud but it wouldn't let me redownload it. I guess it still thought I had it. So I went to Time Machine to the previous day. Dragged Lightroom to the desk top. Not sure why I thought to do that but it worked. I open Lightroom from the desk top and it opened just fine. I put it back in the Applications folder, reopened it and it still worked. Still works today. Go figure

Rick
