I've owned the 40mm f/2.8 for around 10 months but hardly used it. It performs well but I had other lenses I used more.

I recently bought a Canon 700D for mainly as a 'do all' camera. The other day I mounted my 40mm /f2.8 to my 700D and went to one of my favourite street candid haunts, the local bus station. I've been documenting the bus station for around 18 months and it's a place I always get pics.

The 700D with 40mm f/2.8 performed beautifully. Small, light and unobtrusive. The 40mm is just about the perfect focal length for me. Focuses incredibly quickly and is spot on.

This lens in incredibly sharp stopped down to f4. Really amazing for something so inexpensive.

It's really sharp at f/2.8. Well, to my eyes anyway. Exceptional bang for buck.

^^^Ditto above. Prefer the 40mm prime setup as appose to the kit zoom lens.
