Canon shows the list price of the 15-85 as $799 but Amazon lists it at an amazing $699 with their own price at $649.

The price of the 17-55 is also down quite a bit from a few months ago. www.amazon.com/Canon-EF-S-17-55mm-Lens-Cameras/dp/B000EW8074/ (external link)

There is currently a $100 rebate for the 15-85mm. B&H is also selling it for $649 and they don't charge for shipping or for tax if you purchase from out of New York State. And B&H's returns, if necessary, are easy and they pay return shipping.

As far as the 17-55 is concerned both Adorama and B&H are currently selling it for a terrific price of $829!!!, which includes a $50 rebate. (Adorama shows the price with the rebate included and B&H the pre rebate price.) Both B&H and Adorama indicate it's with a US warranty. That seems extremely inexpensive for that lens to me.

Yeah, but from who? And does it come with a Canon warranty?

B&H has the 17-55mm on sale right now for $779.95 The site says $879 with $50 cash back but the price drops to $779 at checkout. I just placed my order for my Christmas present.
