Buydig via Ebay

I heard so many great things about buydig that I decided to make a purchase from them. On Saturday (11/30) via their eBay account, I bought the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM for $279. Awesome price!

Right after I bought it, I received a confirmation email about my payment. It is now 9:30 central time on Monday (12/2) and I still have not received anything about processing or shipment.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Should I wait it out until Tuesday? I assumed they would ship it out today, but I guess not.

Estimated delivery Tuesday, Dec 3, 2013 - Monday, Dec 9, 2013

I sent them an email asking when it might be processed/shipped and they responded quickly with, "Please allow us the opportunity to respond to your inquiry before contacting us again. Thank you for your patience. Buydig"

Am I just a worried person??

Give them time. They had to deal fulfilling and processing orders from Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I ordered something from Canon Saturday morning and I have not received any emails or order confirmation as of tonight but it doesn't worry me a bit. Wait around midnight or your best bet would be tomorrow morning, expect some delays in notifications during this time of the year. BVI is legitimate. You're fine.

Saturday is a weekend, let alone one the busiest shopping weekend of the year. I think you should give them some time, it will get to you.

Even Amazon had longer than normal shipping estimates this weekend for Prime members.

Jordan,

They are totally reliable -- you have nothing to worry about. Things will take a few extra days given that it's Black Friday week.

Enjoy the new lens! Its a good one!

I also purchased the 50mm f/1.4 on 11/30 and haven't had any status updates so you aren't alone. I've never had problems with BuyDig and they are still selling the regular priced lens so I wouldn't worry.

Let me know if either of you who bought the 50mm 1.4 has had a status update or not. So far nothing for me.

Buydig via Ebay is good and reliable in my experience.
In fact, I purchased a Nexus 10 tablet from them Thursday night, and I was surprised that it showed up yesterday. Quick shipping.

So if the 70-200mm shipped out, maybe the 50mm 1/4 will ship soon and on the same day?

It's hard to tell. I would simply wait a couple more days and then contact BuyDig if you haven't heard anything by then. Don't forget that as of this moment (Tuesday AM), they've only been open for one day since being closed for the weekend and I'm sure they are working down the list of orders as fast as they can.

With ebay, as a buyer you're pretty much secure. As a seller, not so much, the buyer will generally win a case and still have the large ebay fees taken from them. But I suppose that's what it takes to use an easy sale site.

Just be aware, I had someone scam me on ebay (I was the seller), ebay told me it was the cost of doing business and that they wouldn't help me.
