Lack of a EVF makes this a non-starter for me. Feels like too much of a incremental upgrade to the original EOSM. Armed with the same sensor, this makes the deals to be had with the first EOSM look great.

I hope AF in low light conditions has been improved as well. It's my only real issue with the EOS M Classic. Any other improvement is just gravy.

According to dpreview (external link)...

It appears that the EOS M2 won't be sold in either the European or US markets.

Did you disable the AF assist? I did some tests at ISO12800, f2, 1/30 and camera takes approx same time to AF as my 6d with 35L.

Folks saying no VF need to shoot with M. I am VF guy and move to no VF was much smoother than I had expected.

I have to say I am quite underwhelmed. Though I never bought into the M1, this upgrade is plain lame when compared to what others are doing in the marketplace. What is Canon thinking?

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

That may be true, but I think it was something they could have improved/added...I'm shocked there's no dual pixel...I haven't had time to look at both specs, but what has really been improved?

I don't get it, a flash should be a must!
Even on the higher full frame.

About the viewfinder, I love em, can't stand shooting looking at a screen.

Then why not just get a G16 or a G1X?

So no dual pixels like 70d? Sorry I missed that part.

Lack of dual pixel AF is the killer on this. I'm surprised it doesn't have it.

The no view finder (it's a mirrorless, isn't that the point?) and lack of flash I don't have an issue with. On-camera flash exists only to make ugly pictures. If you want to trigger other flashes, then integrate a wireless trigger.

$650 dollars for this crap camera, wow!!

no wonder they won't release it in USA, EOS M sells here for $280 with a lens, no one would ever buy this.

they are scared where the market is heading. they are trying to protect their DSLR sales, even from themself...

Not sure what Canon is thinking. But I am sure Sony and Fuji are laughing so hard that they wet their pants.
