IMO, you got a very good deal. I just ordered a new 70D (body only) for a total cost of $1,007 (including the 4% Amazon store credit). So you got the lens, extra batteries, and charger basically for free. Enjoy your new camera!

Yes, I've noticed the 1050 body only price. ridiculous IMO. That is merely 12% off and hardly a holiday bargain. I am waiting to see if it approaches 900 which would be acceptable to me. If not I am likely to wait until next year's possible announcement of 7Dmk2.

Now Adorama has a seemingly good deal on the body, lens and a printer. Then I read several users, one a professional, say the Canon printer is an ink hog.

Canon crap and Canon lenses

Took this yesterday for a death metal band. My second attempt at shooting with external flash with umbrella. We also used two other lights. I'm learning a lot.

I made few AF test and found out that AF zone is pretty tricky to handle sometimes, especially at lower distance from target, AF lock isn´t precise as much as single point AF.
Have anyone else noticed this behaviour?

I haven't done any specific tests but have noticed that AF isn't precise at times using zone mode with birds. Even if the bird is stationery at the time.

exactly, i would recommend using single point AF for shooting stationary targets.

Yes I usually do, but was trying to shoot a fantail at the time and they rarely sit still, so was caught out

I'd say at least $1,000, the 70D just came out and I'm sure it would still be under warranty if the original owner didn't already register it with Canon.

Will canon honor warranty without receipt.
