Jon, congrats on your new camera. Now..... For all the new lenses you will want... May your wife suddenly become forgetful and may your gear list be ever expanding.

Ha ha, thanks Kim. I did manage to negotiate a 24-105 and an 85mm 1.8 into the deal so I'm good for now :D

It would be good to think there is a nice 35mm sigma in my future tho!;)

Hello gang

Just a short note to let you know that I'm on the move. I've literally been round in circles trying to decide on glass and/or camera upgrades.

I've been from sigma 18-35, to 16-35L, to 50mm 1.4, to 70d, to 7dii (if and when), to 6d, and finally decided to go feet first and get a 5diii. Although the deal with the wife is that I'm never allowed to buy anymore camera gear, ever again!! I'll test the water in a year or so tho!!

I'll continue to enjoy this thread and comment on some of the amazing pics here.

Thanks for all the information I've picked up here and for the feedback, always much appreciated.

Jon

Congrats, and "Well, now that you mention it, I have always wanted to pick up golf" usually allows me the occasional camera splurge...

Finally gave the Tamron an honest test today in a basketball game, very happy with the results from it wide open, focus is fast and accurate with the 60D for the most part.

Not really sure where to ask about this, but here goes...

I've got a 60D and a 50mm f1.4 lens. Just read something about getting a reverse ring to do macro..

Thoughts? Recommendations?

So, there are a couple different options , reversing ring and extension tubes.
I have both but my extension tubes lack the capability of using auto focus. I would go with a Kinko extension tube set. It will set you back about $125 but most importantly you can use AF
Reversing or even cheap aluminum extension tubes are $5-30.
