all shots taken with the 70D and 70-200L f2.8 IS USM II. indoor shots mostly taken at ISO2500-4000.

Lol!

I'm still getting comfortable with the 70D but we're getting along just fine. Here are a few of my recent exploits. The first 3 images were shot with the 18-55 STM. I'm really starting to like this lens! The last 2 were show with the 100mm f/2.8 Macro.

Great photos everyone. I'm thinking of upgrading from the 50D to 70D. Has anyone else here made the same upgrade? My main reasons are, articulating LCD, better live view, wifi, video, and hopefully better handling of noise. Also, has anyone here tried the Tamron 17-50 2.8 non-vc with the 70D?

(I know this question was asked a while back but I'll answer anyway!)

I made the upgrade from 50D to 70D and I've had a little time to play with the new camera now. I like it so far. I'm glad that they reintroduced some of the features that were stripped from the 60D. I owned every model between the 20D and the 50D but skipped the 60D because of it being dumbed down. I still miss the multicontroller because it was great for quickly selecting an AF point... but I will have to get used to the new selector inside the control dial instead. Still, that's the only major gripe I have about the 70D. The flip out LCD is great, the expanded ISO range is great, the wireless flash master control is great, the remote shooting on my smartphone is great, and the video is great!

Still having trouble with birds in flight - but may be expecting too much of the Kit 55 - 250 which came with the 600D when I had it. May also need to push the iso, but suspect handholding is the culprit.
First three A1 servo, multi shot, zone mode, the last is single shot.

This is a sequence of three:

Also, I wanted to offer an accessory recommendation. I know there has been discussion in this thread on L brackets, etc. What I have used on my cameras since the 30D is a QR plate, but it has the unique feature of offering holes which can be hooked by the Canon hand-strap (external link). As far as I know, this is the simplest and cheapest way to use the hand-strap without relying on a battery grip. A battery grip certainly has its place, but that place is not attached to my camera. :) I abandoned grips several years ago because I value a slimmer-profile satchel style bag, which wouldn't accomodate a gripped camera with lens attached. Plus a grip does not offer the AF-ON button when shooting in vertical orientation, which I have become accustomed to (see the last link in sig).

But without a battery grip, I was missing out on the comfort of the hand-strap until I discovered this QR plate. I've used the same plate on my 30D, 40D, and 50D, and I was extremely pleased when I installed it on my new 70D and saw that it is the perfect height to allow clearance of the flip-out LCD screen. So for anyone else who wants the convenience of a low profile QR plate, and/or would like the option of using the hand-strap without a battery grip, I heartily recommend this little doo-dad.
