I submitted my $400 rebate on the 70D, PRO 100 printer purchase on Nov. 11th and received the rebate AMEX card on Dec. 4th.

This is by far the FASTEST and smoothest rebate that I've ever received from any retailer, which I expected from a reputable company such as Canon.

Look up^^^^^^^^. I've highlighted the payment options above.

Rep. to you OP for this bank transfer option!

I just called the AMEX number on the back of the reward card -- the customer rep. asked me if I had read the Terms and Condition of the rebate and if it allows you to transfer the balance to a bank account. No, I did not read it (who really does?? I just want my money!) but I had answered yes anyway. He looked it up and confirmed that it does. Yay!

My reward card is now cancelled and balance transfer will take up to 10-15 business days to process.

I just got my $300 card from Canon today and it came with no money on it... Seriously!

On phone now with AMEX to see what happened. They said money was never transferred to the card when processed or whatever.

EDIT: They told me nothing they can do, that I have to contact Canon or the people who purchased the card. So now I will try that... Lame...

EDIT 2: The promotion company site crashed or something and want me to call back later to resolve the issue.

EDIT 3: They said I was approved but show no notice that they ever shipped my $300 card out... So they have to work with AMEX to load the card I have and may take about a week for the funds to show up on it. So I guess it is a waiting game now :(

Man that's the first I've ever heard this happening. If you can, please add your experience to this thread, just in case someone else has this problem.

Thanks...Al

Yeah, no kidding! I never heard of this happened either lol...

I just hope in the next few days a balance shows up, but I have a bad feeling that in a week there will still be no money on it. Bummer, because I was hoping to use this money this week to buy some presents for the holidays!

I will update if money shows up on the card or I have to call them in a week again.

If I want to move the funds to my bank acct, do I have to activate it first or can I just call them to transfer it?

I called them. I did not activate the card.

Btw, the funds transferred to my account on 11/21

just login the rebate website and 2 of my $300 rebate was approved on Dec 2. So $600 total. Usually, how long will it take for me to get the Amex card?

You'll probably received them before they even change the status on line.

So B&H has the 70-200 f2.8 L IS II listed for $2499 with a $300 mail in rebate, but at checkout the price goes down to $2199.

Does this mean that the rebate gets auto-applied at checkout, and the final price is 2199, or is this simply a promo and there's the $300 rebate on top of that, making the final price 1899?.

You're still eligible for the rebate. The final price is $1899.

I find this post explains it well (external link).

Sounds like they came through -- I expected a reputable company like AMEX to deliver.
