The framed picture on Mark II's living room shot reminded me of a lesson I learned last week at Antelope Canyon: Turn off Canon's Long Exposure Noise Reduction unless you really, really need it.

I was taking 3 shot HDR long exposure shots in the canyon with LENR turned on and I was sitting for minutes after the last frame waiting for the shots to process in camera.

I didn't do a side-by-side experiement to see if the processing gained me anything but I really didn't have the time to waste and should have turned it off for the trip.

Live and learn. :)

That's a great tip; particularly with low-light HDR brackets. I wonder if the in-camera processing would be any more effective than in Lightroom anyway. I'm looking forward to experimenting on that. Thanks. :)

Thanks! it is an awesome camera. The AF is much quicker than my 5D3 shooting the barrels. I love it!

Thanks!

Imported into LR5, exported to Perfect Photo Suite 8 for tonal adjustments, back into LR5 to remove some of the saturation from the background. Not a ton of work, just something that I found that the racers like.

Looks like it's time for me to clean the sensor again. Had to clone out a few specks.

I just spent a month in Hawaii travelling between Kauai, Maui, the Big Island & Oahu so got see lots of great stuff and had opportunity to take many photos including these two very different perspectives of cliff jumping.

The first pic from the top was actually taken with my 1dx, but the underwater shot was taken with the 7d...
