it was a 2 light setup
PCB Einstein in a beauty dish as key to camera left (off center though)
then a cheep newer speed light for the Background ($38)

the one where he is laying down is the same setup, but with another cheep neewer speed light as a rim to cam right in the rear.

outstanding photos! Only thing is the ornaments you put in #2 look like an PS add and I dont think are needed. The pictures stand on their own.

Question is the background a solid blue with a snooted light at he center or is that pattern the BG itself?

The ornaments are real and yeah I thought about that afterward, but the parents loved it so that's always good. The BG is solid blue…with a newer speed light and grid behind the boy (cheep $38 speed light….I have 5 of them, and they are sooooo good as slaves)

Great images! And if the parents are happy, that's all that matters. :)

Good to know about those Neewer guns, I see them on Amazon and always wonder if they'd hold up.

My name is Jeff, not actually Jose Canseco.

I've had them for 2 years now, and still kickin' hard...they NEVER missed a flash in slave mode... I have 5 of them now as fillers when I need them.
$38...get involved...can't go wrong with them.

Just saw these... Wow! Now you've got me looking at these Neewer speedlites as inexpensive slaves to compliment an Alien Bee. Was the rim speedlite bare?
