Help with 5D Mark III firmware update

Hi I have been trying to update the firmware on my 5d Mark III to the 1.2.3 version but every time I do I get a different file size when I extract it then what the website says it says it should be 18.85 mb but my file say 17.1mb I have tried 10 times different times downloading it with the same results what am I doing wrong

The zip file is 18.8mb or so, but the firmware file inside (along with other content in the zip, all PDF files) is 17.5mb. You are fine, just copy the FIR file from inside the zip to the root folder of your flash card, and do the update.

Look further up in the information on the web site. There they usually list the size of the extracted file down to the last byte.

You have to read all the text, of course!
