Ouch. A friend of mine dropped one and Canon charged him $150. It was his 70-200 2.8.

That was 6 months ago. Last night he put an open can of mountain dew in his bag with his 7D and 70-200 lens in there and it tipped over pouring all over them. Now AF is stuck and 7D shutter lagging. He will never learn.
