You're so right. And now Sony sensors + Canon TS-E = happy marriage. :)

hehe. wait, do you still have your 14-24? forgot if it was you or Dan..

I have to admit that this new camera has made me excited about photography again. I'm looking forward to having my mediocre photos elevated to a bit higher plane technically if not creatively.

what? the 5d3 is just a year old :P I'll be getting an a7r in the next few months... can't wait! I am rather occupied to be thinking about the camera but this thread isn't helping

I don't have any Nikon-mount lenses any more. The A7R is going to be interesting in that it's a neutral platform for comparing Canon and Nikon lenses.

+1. I too really appreciated those image comparisons. The only eye-opener (unexpected result) for me is the Sony's accuracy with white-balance on interior shots. Canon has never done well at AWB with artifical lighting.

Interesting point. IRC I've seem comparisons basically indicating the Canon 24-70II is sharper than the Nikon equivalent, but the Nikon lens on a D800 will out resolve a 5D3 with the Canon lens.

I do wonder though if there'll be an upturn in used prices for decent FD lenses, given that there will now be Canon shooters buying them for the a7(R).

Well the mirrorless crowds were scooping them up for a while now. And not just Canon. 5 years ago you could get Minolta MD 70-210/4 Macro or 35-70/3.5 Macro for $15, now you're lucky to find them below $70.

Having shot Sony Nex for a while now, the lens mount doesn't really matter that much anymore, especially for MF lenses, it accepts anything and the adapter is only $18-20.

Ex-Canon shooter. Now Sony Nex.

Playing around with a 400mm DO IS f4 and 2X Teleconverter III via the Metabones adapter. At f8 manual focus with focus peaking.

Canons to the left, Canons to the right,
We hold our L glass toward the light,
Digitizing in a snap reflective glory
That will forever tell our imaged story.

Took my a7 out for a try today before it got dark. Shot with the Canon 24-70 f4 and a metabones adapter. So far I'm loving this camera.
