Just got my A7R this past Tuesday. Sold the 5D MkIII and haven't looked back. Don't really see the need for a DSLR at this point. The A7R gives me everything I need right now, and with the grip on the way, the mediocre battery life won't seem too terrible going forward.
All the glass options you have with this body have made this thing truly a worthwhile purchase. Here's a shot fired with the Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 wide open. DR is superb.

thought that was normal with telephoto lenses? I always have trouble getting super clean long exposures with telephotos.

I was hoping that by now, someone that has used this camera for awhile now would start a new thread for descrbing how they have their camera settings customized and what features they use the most so far.

I've tried reading the manual but without the camera in front of me, it's a bit hard to imagine how the controls are set up and how to customize them.

I hope this new thread starts soon...my camera should arrive Monday. :D

Oh, and X_Tan, great example of the dynamic range of this cameras sensor in terms of shadow recovery.

a7r w/100-400L MF. I'm starting to really enjoy the EVF, I have never used one until now.

Heavy cropped, I still can't believe the detail I get. My Canon AF would have focused on the branches on this one.

Manually focusing in very cold and snowy weather with no gloves on really sucks... but the images i got from it are priceless!

@peteg1 Simply fantastic. I'm really seeing the DR in my shots jump out at me. Hopefully some tidy firmware updates will make this bad boy even better.

@Zethar - Thank you! Had to get it the moment it was announced.

You really know how to use that combo well! I'm looking for a copy of that lens at the moment. So you're using the metabones Canon E-mount adapter?

No i'm using OLD manual focus lenses. I'm using the FD to NEX mount adapter (10 bucks on Ebay) and a bunch of old FL and FD lenses.

I prefer the look of the older FL lenses over the FD lenses for some reason, but, that's just me.
