Its only a $1.79 paypal fee which I didn't mind paying!!! The usb cable can be found anywhere for a few bucks you should mind!

Why pay for a shutter actuation count when it's free I tried two of the free sites, got tired of the waiting time and how I kept having issues or not updloading a pic to read count. Went to oescount, Paid the $1.79 via paypal and was done in 15 seconds!! Canon 70D/70-200 f4/17-55 2.8/BG-E9/430EZ I like DSLR's. It makes a distinction between photo fans and normal people who don't give a damn how a picture could look like

I believe it resets if you swap batteries - at least that is what I have been told. Pete

Long story short for gphoto - you need to use a virtual machine to host linux (unless you're already running it...), download and run the program. There is a much easier solution for gphoto2. Gerry

You go to the Ubuntu site and make a system USB stick with storage. You restart your computer with the USB stick plugged in (make sure that you have allowed to boot from USB). Your PC is then running with Ubuntu from the stick. Real Linux, not VM. You add gphoto2 ...and then you follow the simple instructions from this thread https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1058019 Yes, but now I can check shutter count without rebooting
