Is it not in the menu page?

Menu -> third picture of wrench -> battery info

Mine number goes up with each shutter click.

Some of my feedback

This is by far the best most simple way I've tried so far. Its only a $1.79 paypal fee which I didn't mind paying!!!

The usb cable can be found anywhere for a few bucks

you should mind!
Why pay for a shutter actuation count when it's free

I tried two of the free sites, got tired of the waiting time and how I kept having issues or not updloading a pic to read count. Went to oescount, Paid the $1.79 via paypal and was done in 15 seconds!!

Canon 70D/70-200 f4/17-55 2.8/BG-E9/430EZ I like DSLR's. It makes a distinction between photo fans and normal people who don't give a damn how a picture could look like

It is only accurate if the camera has not been factory reset

Yes. It's listed under Battery Info under the third wrench icon.

I haven't done it for awhile, but this website allows you to upload a recent picture and it will give the camera shutter count:

http://www.camerashuttercount.com/ (external link)

I don't know how accurate it is.

I believe the shutter count under the battery info menu only shows shutter actuations since that particular battery was used. I believe it resets if you swap batteries - at least that is what I have been told.

Yes. It's listed under Battery Info under the third wrench icon.

Correction - The internal shutter count resets when the card is changed or cleared.

Those "upload a picture" sites only work for Nikon files...
ML is free but only works on certain cameras.

I was getting very annoyed at the lack of free utility to find shutter count.
Then I found gphoto2. Then I got very annoyed at trying to get it to work in a Linux VM box, haha.

But once you get it worked it's great.
(except for when you can't exit the VM due to a bug - ha ha...)

Anyways, assuming anyone is looking for a free solution and is techno-capable - check out gphoto2.
If you can follow instructions you can get it to work (command line based).
If not, have fun ponying up the $$$ :(

Long story short for gphoto - you need to use a virtual machine to host linux (unless you're already running it...), download and run the program.
I have a win 7 64 bit setup, I used virtualbox to setup an unbuntu VM, then ran gphoto2 in terminal.
Works like a charm, and it's free.

HOWEVER, for 60D, once can just use magic lantern.

There is a much easier solution for gphoto2.

You go to the Ubuntu site and make a system USB stick with storage. You restart your computer with the USB stick plugged in (make sure that you have allowed to boot from USB). Your PC is then running with Ubuntu from the stick. Real Linux, not VM.

You add gphoto2

...and then you follow the simple instructions from this thread

Yes, but now I can check shutter count without rebooting :)
