Sounds "too" cheap.. i'm worried. They're either pricing it so cheap, as it doesn't live up to the standards they (and we) expected.. or they're trying to compete with Sigma's 150-500 OS..which would still mean.. disappointment.

It is scary cheap. That price sounds like they took a Pringles can, shoved some glass in it and selling it as a lens. Samples looked good, shouldn't be too long after its out before we see more reports on it. I'm going to be watching it, for a hobbyist it looks attractive and for me this is a hobby.

Yep. Really makes me doubt the price point now. If this price holds true, the backorders will be enormous.

The images seem to be a bit hit or miss, but over all, that is very impressive for a 150 - 600mm lens at that length. The focal lengths aren't listed, but it looks like it is sharper at the long end vs the wide end (just loking at the background compression)... which is fine. I think most people would prefer it to be sharper long. Most of us already have sharp alternatives from 100-200mm.

The fact it is a f/5-6.3 might explain some of the price. I'll wait for the reviews, but the price is vary promising. We'll just have to see though.

$1500 is price point for these types of zooms and if it's sharp at the long end then it will be a seller

Those look to me like quite some sharpening has been applied to them. We need to see full size unprocessed images to see what kind of image quality the lens can deliver.

I pulled a couple down in pixel peeped them, didn't see any indication of that. What are you seeing?

Downloaded fukuda1 and 10.

10 looks sharp but is taken very close at 600mm. 01 is not focussed and looks to be deformed by heat shimmer... not sure why they allow that on public domain.

I said when this was first announced that it would be far more successful if they optimized it for the long end rather than the short end. The early returns look like they may have done just that.
