Cannot wait to see some full resolution pics from this. If the sharpness is decent and the CAs are controllable this will be a hell of a lens.

Seems a bit too good to be true right now though.

There are a few floating around, wildlife photos, some look pretty darn good imo.

It releases in Japan in 3 days, hopefully we get to see some consumer photos then :D

Wow....

<$1100 for stabilized 600mm with modern AF motor. If it's even average optically, this is an amateur wildlife photographer's dream come true,

+1 !!!

Sounds great to me!

Shoot first and ask questions later.

Yeah, that link was posted earlier in this thread. I wish those shots had the EXIF data in them.

Yeah, I saw the sample pics. But at that resolution, they better look flawless. Hate to be a pixel peeper but a wildlife lens has alot of detail to capture. So, it really needs to stand up to scrutiny. That's why I'll wait for full size previews.

Somebody here said there's a store taking pre-orders at that price, so it must be official.

I received an email response from Tamron Canada late today that they just confirmed suggested list price would be 1299cdn although dealers would likely sell for less. Lens can be preordered at Tamron online by end of this week.

Full size TIF files available here:

http://www.tamron.com.hk/A011/ (external link)

I downloaded them and ran them through Lightroom and they look decent enough to me. The ones labeled Fukuda are mostly of Japanese Cranes ( the bird, not construction equipment :) ).

Of courser the RAW files would be even better but you can at least do a bit with the TIF to get a bit of an idea. Going on these alone I am getting very excited about this lens.

Please have a look at post # 679 & 685. I posted price from Tamron Japan site.
I am sure US pricing will be around same bracket.

And they have the EXIF data intact, too. The two I looked at were at max zoom on a 1DX, and look pretty darn good. Not 600/f4 good, but pretty nice.
