I really wish Aperture would start reconizing this lens and stop listing it as an 18-50mm f2.8-4.5 :o

Oh well, just a couple snap shot of some friends at a light display earlier this week

2x tele converter? sure, just don't expect it to work correctly... this was using manual focus

How does this compare with old and new sigma 30mm 1.4 lenses. I have old 30mm 1.4. It always stays with camera. My long term goal is replace old 30mm 1.4 and 18-55is with this lens. Sigma is also offering free mount replacement when some one switches to Nikon in future.

Edit: I thought I was responding to a different thread.

My understanding however, is that this lens is better than the 30mm 1.4, both new and old version. This is a very good lens.

a quick question for you folks out there with the lens
1.) did it replace a different lens - and if so- which one?
2.) does the size/weight of the lens hamper you in form or fashion?
3.) do you use it with or without the hood?

thanks

It replaced my 17-50mm f2.8 Tamron

2.) does the size/weight of the lens hamper you in form or fashion?
Size and weight does hamper particularly for street photography

3.) do you use it with or without the hood?
Hood when I always on the moves or indoors events (with many people around), without like during landscape
