anyone able to point me to a discussion about viable affordable zoom lens to use with the EOS M? looking for something light, "cheap", with respectable IQ

kin2son wrote in post #16532248 (external link)
The obvious answer - EF-M 18-55 ;)

That would be my thought. Unless by zoom he meant telephoto. If you want telephoto, something like a Tamron 55-200 adapted from EF is about as small as it gets.

hmm I don't get anything when I search for Tamron 55-250, do you mean the Canon 55-250?

55-200. It's not much bigger than a regular 18-55 kit lens.

You need an AF capable EF to EF-M adapter, too.

55-250 is a pretty good option, too. Tamron is an inch shorter and 100g lighter, but no IS.

Thanks :) The bike is brilliant too. 175hp with a full electronics suite, that is pretty much transparent. Until you really need it anyway :) It's rather enjoyable combining 2 of my favorite past times.

as a general rule I hate crooked pictures, but it really works well with those giraffes.

Pretty sure it's not crooked, the hills in the back just make it appear so.

ya I hate the crooked shots too, its too painful on the back/neck. Wasn't purposeful, but it is slightly crooked as the palm trees do lean slightly left, it was more a matter of trying to get that shot asap and poor pp, haha.

Wow. All look very good except the last one, I personally hate nifty fifty's bokeh, but the other ones are perfect. That 22mm is one small piece of gem. I like the tilt in the giraffe pic :D Both giraffe pics give a feeling of being there.

Gotta agree with you about the bokeh, and I used to own an 85L

Love the giraffe shots. Looks like a huge area for them to roam around.
