Shipping has been added to the pricing for B and H.....When you go into the store you will find the price a bit cheaper, not much...but enough to cover shipping. So 'free shipping' ...isn't really free shipping, for you pay for it in unit price.

True but you have to pay NY state taxes. For those living outside NY we don't have to pay state taxes (yet :)). So for me, I save 7% when making a purchase from Adorama or B&H.

Not for shipping to the UK, I just looked at the 70D and it is another $53 to ship to the UK.

So how long beofre either Sigma or Tamron come up with a 200-400 f4 OS/VC? The sigma 120-300 is good but not wide open at 420mm, Tamron could do it and make a killing.

In most states, theroretically they're supposed to pay them to their own state as "Use taxes", but of course almost nobody does.

the 70-300 is a made in china product and fairly low in quality compared to their other lenses. Also pretty weak on the longer end, but super good on the shorter side. Would rather have it the other way around!

I cant read MTF's, but if the 600 is better than the 300, then might be worth it, otherwise, I wouldn't bother.

Umm, have you used a 70-300? lol

Build quality is great and at 300mm it is only slightly softer than 70mm.

Yep- if the IQ and build were good I'd be first in line.

uh... I own one. Got it for the 300mm, and it doesnt get really sharp, even stopped down. If I can stop it down to F8-F11 and get really sharp images, I'de be all for it, but it's clearly not in the league of the 24-70 or even 17-35, which are much sharper stopped down.

if it's sharp stopped down to F8-F11, I may consider it. It's weak wide open based on the samples I've seen.

It's still a Tamron.

It's like buying a very expensive Toyota, over say, a BMW, which is the L equivalent in the world of optics.

No hate, just saying.

I wouldn't care if it were made by a company called 'Sh*te Optics Inc', if it were a good lens.

But I'd never by a Dodge.

Maybe not everyone have money to buy BMW.

Also, not everyone who has one can really afford it.

Also, not everyone who can afford to would buy a car of that price.

Because you get what you pay for.

This is a truism for almost anything.
