Honestly, will I see notable improvement in the IQ of my photos if I were to upgrade from a 50D to a 5DII? This is a serious question. I keep hearing that going to FF is overrated.

I upgraded from the 550D to the 5D2, and I noticed a difference. With the right glass both bodies will produce excellent results. However, 35mm digital (so called full frame), will produce larger images more suited for large prints.

Why not rent the 5d2 for a week and see if you like what it produces before going out to buy.
