Archer, I Googled Newport RI and it looks like a fascinating place. Would love to see pictures of the historical houses. You have beaches and coastline which is great!

Yep. I haven't taken pics of the mansions yet, nor the beaches (waiting for some better weather for that), but they're on the list.

Heh. Your temperature in Celsius is probably higher than ours is in Fahrenheit! (We're somewhere in the 20s).

Lovely beach shots, Kx315. And there's that pretty little lady again (last shot). She is going to break some hearts when she grows up! :)

Even our temperatures here match that statement. I thought we it' was actually going to be cold this year for Christmas with how cold it with all the rain storms and cold front that have been passing through since Thanksgiving, granted still not you kind of cold. We're only looking at about a high of 26C this year, so not as warm some recent years but it always to be one of our warmer(for winter) days for Christmas.

Kx315's shots remind of many of the recent shots int he SoCal thread(surfer shots), I'm sure it's even warmer down the there but it's also summer for them.

Hi, all. I managed to organize internet here in Austria, so I can now post a few photos.

On Christmas (24th here in Austria) we had a Christmas dinner, and unpacked preasents with the children. Then at 11:30 we went to the Christmas service.

Between 10:30 and 11:00 is Turmbläsen. This is where a brass group plays christmas music out of the window on one of the towers of the Church.

The church here was originally built in 1199. It is one of the most beautiful churches I know. This is where I got married!

In the first 2 photos you can see the outside of the church and the lighted window where the brass group is playing.

WHen we first came in, the church was only lighted by a few candles at the altar.

Later they lit the christmas trees and turned on the lighting in the church.
The Current church was build between 1714–1730 by the architect Johann Michael Prunner. The painting is by Bartolomeo Altomonte.

Sorry. I messed up the panorama a little as I didn't have the camera on Manual. But I only had a few seconds to take it before we left the church. I'll see if I can do a better photo during daylight.
