I pulled a couple down in pixel peeped them, didn't see any indication of that. What are you seeing?

From what I've seen, there is a mix. Some definitely look over-sharpened, while others look like pretty normal processing.

some comparisons, use your traslator of choice, the photos are pretty good.

Looks slightly better than the 300+2x, and not as good as the 500+1.4x, neither of which is a surprise. I'd like to see a comparison against a 400/5.6+1.4x and a 100-400+1.4x, which I expect would be its main competition (even though those two don't quite get to 600).

Yep, it's dependent on which ones you pull down. No way am I going to grab them all.

Doubt I'm the first, seen a few posts on other forms from people who this one ordered. I've also got the AW1 on order, with my 300mm I can get 810mm with it so depending on which one shows up first will be the one I get.

Hmmmmmm I hope it delivers and would seriously consider one at that price point. I have a feeling it won't be jawdropping image quality but shouldn't really disappoint either.

After seeing some images from this thing I'm really considering making a switch from my 300 L. Can't believe I said that!

We'll have to see what tax return season brings...

Or at least dump your 2x TC. There's absolutely no way this lens will match your 300L's IQ at 300mm. With some luck it might match 300L+ 2x TC, though. And of course it will beat the pants off the 300L at 150-299mm and 301-599mm (except for maybe at 420).
