Dreary afternoon but a great day to take photos none the less. All taken at ISO 800 and f/5.6.

Nice! Looks like the 100-400L is being put to good use! :)

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

How do you like the push-pull zoom? It seems like people either love it or hate it.

No biggie for me. I seem to have adapted to it quite well. I think I might need to adjust the tension a bit but I find no big deal at all.

Very nice shots John. I'm jealous of the Bufflehead image. Congrats on the new lens. It's a good one to have.

Wow, love the clarity and detail on the buffelhead, despite the dreary day.

Getting good use out of the new lens.

Thanks much, I have been trying to get close shots of a Bufflehead all this Fall and got lucky today. The lake that I got the picture at was partially frozen over and a lot of birds were in the water. I think it helps it was doing a lot of diving.

Thanks John, it has been a lot of fun so far and I expect a lot more, too.

Very nice series, love the Bufflehead. That soft diffused light can be great for bird pics
