Well done. What an other-worldly looking place.

#2 is one of the better shots I've seen from the Racetrack. Beautiful soft and balanced light on the scene and great composition!

It's funny you say you prefer Mequite Dunes at sunset. I prefer them at sunrise on the eastern side, you should check it out. I'll be out there in a few days. I'll be spending the night at the Racetrack, can't wait. Nice shots, Thanks for sharing!

I never shot Mesquite Dunes at sunrise. The opportunity never seemed to present it self both times I've been to the park. I think that sunrise would be pretty good though since there probably would be less people/tracks around. I'd love to go to Death Valley again though. Have fun up there!

Lucky you Dave.
Don't forget a fisheye or ultra wide for the night shooting say milky way, though if you are going to be there in only few days, it would be close to full moon nights and it will be too bright. May be good to take images of Racetrack as race is in full action.

Share your images.

Out of Stovepipe Wells...I like the low shot but love the compression of the road and mountains

Excellent set. Particularly like your usage of people in them. KUDOS.

Have plenty of Canons, enough ammo, enough to blow 'em to "L". Now, I just have to learn to aim.

Awesome shots. I could spend a week there and not run out of things to shoot. So much to see in Death Valley. You did well to get around so much of it.
