Gerry one function I have on my 5d is to set the dof button to switch between ai servo and one shot focus,
I don't use One Shot. Even my 60D worked flawlessly in AIServo (still does).
I find that occasionally I 'nod' as I press the shutter and mis-focus the shallow DOF photos. Also, I like the definitive disengagement of the AF I get by releasing the BB.
I use the One Shot only if I want the confirmation beep (like when calibrating lenses), otherwise, I sense focus confirmation when the lens motor stops vibrating (hard to sense with the EF 70-200...).
