It was indeed shot with 9 stop ND filter with 8 min shutter speed.
Rest of it comes from the weater.

Um, after reading this again, I have a question - do you mean 8 SECONDS, instead of 8 minutes? 8 minutes sounds like an awfully long exposure, even with a 9 stop ND filter, and 8 seconds itself is a pretty long exposure.

Yes I mean 8 min. Just double checked and it shows 480 seconds in my lightroom.
Of course you can try little bit shorter exposure time and still get same kind of result.
One or two stops of exposure time came from my choice of apeture and ISO in combination with not so high ambient light intensity. Maybe 1-2 min could have been enough otherwise.

OK, thanks for checking; I just wanted to be sure. I understand what you mean about the very long exposure required because of your choice of ISO (no doubt low) and the low amount of light on that overcast day. Of course, that's one reason it looks so nice! :)

I am still in love with this lens. Manual focus has turned out to be extremely fun and rewarding when I nail the shot.

This lens usually stays hidden in the depths of my bag ever since buying my L lenses but I decided to dig it out and I'm glad I did. I forgot how much I liked it.

I don't have this problem and don't know much about it.
Hope you can get your problem solved.

Where is everybody ... no post in five days? :(
Got this lens a week ago and finally had the opportunity to snap some quick shots. This is my first post on this thread and hopefully a lot more to come.

5D @F/1.4 with EE-S focusing screen.
