Is tamron 150-600mm's image quality at 400mm better than Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L + 2x extender III at 400mm?

Maybe post a photo of yourself, just to give prejudice a face?

Excactly why do you think it would be better to produce in another country?

What does that remark have to do with being disappointed where a lens is manufactured? I wish it was made in Japan, so what?

You need to lighten up a little.

Regarding the quality of something based entirely on where it's made and not on the object it's self is the very definition of racism....

However, since the poster (based on subsequent posts) could be in Vietnam, the disappointment she expressed could have been more political than racist and totally unrelated to quality.

Also, not all bias is based on race so your statement that this is the definition of racism is, in my opinion, overly broad.

What if he/she said it was good that it was made in china? Is that racist? I know id be happier to hear it was made in Japan. That doesnt mean all of china is making cheap products with bad qc but they certainly have a reputation for it. I dont think thats racist.

Regarding quality has nothing to do with racism. It has to do with reputation. Germany and Japan have an earned reputation of building the best glass. China is not there yet IMO. They indeed may be in the same category some day.

I personally would have more confidence in the Tamron if it was made in Japan and therefore wish it was made in Japan, however if the reviews are favorable, I would purchase it regardless as to where it was made.

Personally I'm happier that it's made in China. If the lens proves to be anything like as good as some of the first impressions suggest there's no way Tamron could sell it for $1k if it were made in Japan or Germany.

If it were made there I probably wouldn't even be considering it.

If that's racist so be it...it's a sensitive world some of us live in...is that racist too?

I'm actually pleased to see it's AF. Snappy and quick when shorter focal lengths and/or limiter just like the 70-200. It's actually impressive that it has the speed for full range.

Nice and quiet. VC. Gotta own this lens!

I think lenses which made in China are never as good as lenses which made in Japan, that's all

This could be months. Bryan can be slow to review third party lenses...if this were a Canon lens, he'd already be putting one through its' paces.
